I am a working professional who found myself having to change my lifestyle because finally a healthcare provider was up front about my having diabetes AND metabolic syndrome and the need to be proactive in my food choices and exercise.
This blog is dedicated to my search for information, recipes, food when eating out and tools as well as adjusting my family recipes to low carb alternatives. I shared all of this with my two sisters and thought perhaps if I shared outside the family that it would benefit others with diabetes or metabolic syndrome… or just anyone that wanted some good low carb recipes or information.
I have an amazing husband, family and friends that are on this journey with me. I look forward to helping others with this blog!

Hey girl,. I haven’t tried any recipes yet but my first will be the chocolate chip cream cheese cake. The only problem I am having is finding the truvia baking blend for the cake. I have found the truvia brown sugar baking blend but not the plain baking blend. Where did you find the one listed for the cake? Thanks Joan
Hi Joan! I have found the Truvia Baking Blend, which has now changed its name to Truvia Cane Sugar Blend, at Walmart, Publix, and Kroger’s. I might have seen it in Earth Fare or Whole Foods. It is in a thick plastic bag with a pour spout and would look just like the brown sugar blend. I think I like the cake for the almond/coconut pound cake a bit better. I am going to make that pound cake with just vanilla and add the chocolate chips/brown sugar/pecans. I’ll let you know how it turns out… or you might want to try it that way too. Either are quite tasty! Good luck on finding the Truvia. I always see it amply supplied in Walmart. If you end up using Splenda instead… make sure to double the amount called for Truvia. (Splenda is 1:1 with Sugar while Truvia requires only 1/2 the amount and so it needs adjusting.) Let me know how it turns out!
